Time Flies When We are Having Fun.....

Oh my! Where has the time gone!!!??? I feel terrible for not keeping this blog updated, but between a 15 month old, a 3 1/2 year old and a husband who works his tail off 24/7, this blog has fallen behind! We are right in the middle of the holiday season! Today is my last day of work until Tuesday and I'm ready for a nice break! While Brett has no idea what this holiday season is, Wyatt is 100% enthrawled in the season! All he has asked for is a blue recycle truck and a rake, yes, I said a rake! Can I find a rake? Nope! I told him I was trying to help Santa and the Hannukah man try to find it, but so far, no luck!

We have a lot to be thankful for this year!
1. Brian has a wonderful job (that tends to keep him away from home more than we like, but we are grateful!) and he just won a very large project that will keep him and his team quite busy over the next year! Super proud of our Project Manager!
2. Brett and Wyatt started at a new school in October and Brett is adjusting great and is "one of our favorites"! Wyatt has had a much harder time adjusting, but he is definitely in progress and doing well!
3. I love my job! I'm grateful for this opportunity that came to me in a time that I didn't think I wanted to ever work again!
4. We are all healthy!

We have so much more that we can be thankful for, but those are just a few! This time next year, I will have just come home from being a part of and watching one of my bestest friends embark on a new part of her life! 2012 has a lot to offer, I just know it! I'm looking forward to watching my babies grow up even more than they already have and enjoying every moment of it! Happy Holiday's to all!!!

Brett is 9 Months Old....Seriously?

Where has the time gone??? My baby is already 9 months old and growing like a weed! He is into absolutely everything, climbing stairs, jumping all over his brother and trying to empty our cabinets, one item at a time! I don't remember being this exhausted with Wyatt, but I guess that is because there are 2 little ones to watch now, instead of just 1! Thankfully Brett is an amazing little guy and is pretty happy most of the time....unless he is hungry or tired! He had his 9 month check up today and he is healthy! He is only in the 25th percentile for his weight and height (MUCH smaller than Wyatt!)but she says he looks great! His giggles are the best and watching the relationship between he and Wyatt grow, is probably the most amazing thing ever!!! Wyatt now asks him to play with him and when I told Wyatt it was Brett's birthday (kinda), he said, "is he going to be big like me now Mommy?"....not exactly just yet, but its a comin!!! Love you angel baby!

The Potty Train is Leaving the Station!

Wow! The Potty train finally stopped by our home and picked up one of the most amazing 3 year olds I know (ok, so I may be a bit biased)! Wyatt (and Mommy and Daddy) is finally on the potty train! We are working pretty hard at getting him to wear his big boy pants and he is actually doing a great job! We've only had a few accidents and we couldn't be more proud! We love you bubba, keep up the great work!

Brett is On the Move!

Our little guy started moving overnight, literally! All of the sudden, he is crawling and pulling himself up into a standing postion! I cannot believe how quickly this time is going! I'm sure he is just trying to keep up with his big brother, but OMG!!! He thinks Buddy is his own personal jungle gym and he has tried several times using Wyatt as a jungle gym, and Wyatt says "Mommy, can I push him?"! Um, no, he is still a baby and a lot smaller than you honey!! Wyatt did let me put Brett in the bathtub with him last night and he was trying to show Brett all of the fun times to be had, but unfotunately, Brett got freaked out and starting screaming when Wyatt poured a cup of water over his head!!! Love my boys!

Trash and Recycle

Wow!! Wyatt is obsessed and has been for quite some time! He absolutely loves trash and recycle day....whether that is at Gail's house or at our house! Now, our trash days are on the same day, and it is a whole week that he has to go in between, and that is the longest week ever! He literally sits in the window and watches for the trash men to come around. He has 3 trash trucks (courtesy of Gail!) that he plays with pretty much around the clock! He uses letters from a puzzel, and depending on the color, they are trash, recyle or leaf bags. I pray he grows out of this, but this has been over a year now! He loves to look inside the cans to make sure the trash and recycle is in there and he knows when the lid is open, they have already come and taken it away. I promise you, it is quite ridiculous, but so cute on how obsessed he truly is!!

Wyatt's First Hospital Visit....

Our sweet boy had to have a little surgery yesterday. He was misdiagnosed as a baby and at 3 years old, they found out he had a hernia, not an elevated blood vessell. (the good kind the doctor said....) Wyatt wasn't too thrilled with having to wear the gown they gave him, but Daddy offered him a $1 and life was good and he stopped trying to rip it off.

It ended up being much bigger than they thought and he has 8 stitches inside and just a small "boo boo" on the outside. He did absolutely great and Mommy only melted down twice. I got to go back when he was still in recovery because he was crying pretty hard, but as soon as I whispered in his ear that I was there, he fell back to sleep. When he finally woke up, he was talking normally and just looked half asleep. Once the "la la" drugs wore off, he was back to his normal self and to this moment, has not complained once. I did offer him tylenol last night and he said "will that make me feel better Mommy?".

7 Months....Really???

Our sweet boy! You are 7 months old today! I just can't believe how quickly time is flying by. You are such a good boy....most of the time! This week you have been home with Daddy as Gail is on a cruise and I'm not quite sure Daddy has your feedings down, but thats okay! You are so active! You roll over whenever we're trying to change your diaper! You are already scooting after your brother and I'm not sure he is quite ready to share his prize posessions with you just yet. You talk to us and laugh with us all the time. You almost always have a smile on your face! You always are chewing on something....I think you have some teeth that are trying to come through! You have brought so much to our lives and we are so grateful for that! We love you and cherish every moment with you!

Honesty is the Best Policy

If there is anything that I want for my children, is for them to always feel loved, always feel safe and never worry! Over the past few months I have come across some people that are not at all who they say or portray that they are and while I have been truly hurt by this, I've also learned some valuable lessons. One lesson I will continue to teach my children is honesty. While not everyone practices honesty, if you are always honest, you can always lay your head down at night knowing that you are a good person. People will say and do things that you may not even understand, but as long as you know in your heart what the right thing is, thats all that matters.

Bad Mommy!

Happy Birthday to my handsome 3 year old! And oh my goodness, Brett is already 6 months old! Where has the time gone? Between changing jobs and trying to get back into a routine, I think I forgot about my children's blog! How dare I!

Wyatt had an amazing birthday! He turned 3 with all of his amazing family and friends! He is going to be like his Mommy, his birthday was spread out over a few days, which is what I like to do too! We still can't convince him that he needs to go pee pee on the potty, he feels like he still needs his diapers! We are working very hard on that! In the last year my big guy grew over 3 inches and gained 6 pounds! We did find out during his "well visit" that our Pediatrician wanted his "bump" (that he has had since he was born and we were told after an ultrasound that it was an elevated blood vessell) checked out again by a Pediatric Surgeon. So off we went this week and he does have a "good kind of" hernia. He is having the 15 minute surgery on May 2nd. He will have to be put under, but the doctor said that our drive to the hospital will be more dangerous than the actual procedure. (I guess he has seen me drive before!) He just started playing soccer and after the initial "shyness", he was all in! He threw himself over that ball and played like a big boy! It was so great to watch! We are excited to continue to watch as the season progresses.

Brett is already 6 months old and mobile! He is the most amazing baby ever! He is so good! He only cries if he is hungry or tired (just like his Daddy!:))! For the most part, he sleeps so good! We are so very lucky! While he isn't in a full crawl, he sure has the "scootch" down! You can set him down on one side of the room and you turn around and he has made it across to the other side of the room! He absolutely adores his big brother! As long as Wyatt is talking, laughing, jumping or just in his sight, he stares and laughs and coos! It is amazing to watch!

Once again, so grateful to be a Mommy to these amazing boys!

Poor Brett!

Brett is such a tough boy, but he sure has had a rough week! First, he came down with croup last Tuesday during the Blizzard of 2011, while Daddy was in California! Papa and Bella were able to save the night and come and get us and get us to Children's Mercy for a steroid treatment! Then he was just recovering nicely and he came down with Bronchiatis and an ear infection! Thankfully he is back on the road to recovery, but now we are trying to get him to go back to the "greatest sleeper ever" boy he was previously and sleep through the night for us, as I think Mommy and Daddy are exhausted!

Growing Boy!

Brett had his 4 month appointment last week and he was a champ! He did get a low grade fever for the first time, but you would've never known it! He is always so happy and smiling, unless he is hungry or tired! He weighed in at 15lbs, 5ozs (55th percentile), and he measured 24 1/4inches (45th percentile)! He is now grabbing a rattle, sitting up, laughing, cooing and talking (when Daddy talks to him on the phone)! We are pretty sure this is our last baby, so I'm cherishing every moment! I can't believe how far life has come in these 4 short months!

4 Months Old!

My how time flies! My baby boy is already going to be 4 months old tomorrow! Brett, you have brought a new light into our lives! You are an amazing baby and we love you with everything we have!

You started to eat cereal over the last 2 weeks and at first, you really weren't a fan, but now that I'm making it a bit thicker, you gobble it right up! You are infatuated with your big brother! You love to hear him talk, laugh, sing, play! It occupies you for hours!

I hope that you 2 are best of friends as life takes you forward! I cherish my relationships with my brothers every day!

We love you sweet Angel!
