Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011

What a year 2010 has been! Our family expanded and we couldn't be more grateful for another beautiful healthy boy! Tonight we will bring in the New Year just the four of us, as we all have been fighting the stomach bug all week! We look forward to what 2011 has to offer! May everyone have a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New Year! Be safe and remember to be grateful for those around you and cherish every moment!

Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011

So I'm back to work during this crazy Holiday season. What a bunch of mixed emotions. My boys are so well taken care of while I am away, however I miss them terribly every moment I'm not with them!

We are so very lucky to be able to celebrate another year of happiness! Daddy is turning 32 on Christmas Day and we are now a family of four!!! Wyatt understands what this season is about and he makes us laugh every day. I can't wait for the day he starts teaching Brett everything there is to know! I'm happy to move on from 2010 and start 2011!

Very Thankful!

We just had a wonderful visit with Brian's family over Thanksgiving! We wish we lived closer so the boys could play together more often, but it also makes us cherish the time we have together more! I'm very thankful for my 2 healthy boys! I never thought motherhood would fulfill me so much! I'm a little bittersweet this week as I am spending my last week home with Brett! I have to go back to work next week and I'm really not sure how I am going to drop both of my boys off and be able to work a full day!!!

Wyatt Learning about Hannukah

There is a very special family that I've been blessed to know for 14 years now and they are so good to me and my children! They sent us this Menorah this year for Brett and Wyatt to have and be able to learn about Hannukah! Wyatt is obsessed with the Menorah and he asks for his "numbers" every day! He is slowly learning what the Menorah is and I can't wait to see how he is this Holiday season!

Wyatt Loves Thomas!

Wyatt loves Thomas the Train! So much so that I had to buy him these special pajama's and it is a struggle every morning to get him out of them and get him dressed! He even asked one day if Gail could have a pajama day so he could show her his Thomas PJ's!!! Love this special boy!

Brett at 6 Weeks

I can't believe its been 6 weeks since we were blessed with this special boy! Wyatt is slowly warming up to his brother and even asked this morning if Brett could paint with him and play lego's with him! That is the step in the right direction that I've been waiting for!

Friends Forever!

There is nothing more special than friendship! My very good friend Kristen came this weekend to meet Brett and we had a great weekend! Wyatt was in love (partially obsessed!) with her and got right into his normal mode as soon as she arrived! They had a fun time spilling lego's everywhere, making movies and coloring! Every morning Wyatt would stand right outside her door and ask if he could go see Aunt Kristen! Too cute! I've been very lucky to have such wonderful people in my life and Kristen and Michelle are my friends that have been around the longest. While I moved away 5 years ago (my how time flies), I feel the same way about them today as I did back then! They are always only a phone call away and I'm truly grateful for that! Michelle is getting ready to welcome her 4th baby into the world and wasn't able to come for this visit, but now I have an excuse to get back there as soon as I can. Pictures to come very soon!

We are also on the countdown already for me having to go back to work! 4 weeks left and I'm so sad! I love my daycare provider as if she was part of the family, but I'm a little jealous of the time she gets with my kiddo's! I have to say if it weren't for her, I would not be going back to work!!! I just hope for a windfall of money to arrive in the next few weeks so I can stay home for good! Although, I have to say I give a lot of credit to the stay at home Moms I know because it is a hard job! I also know that after this week, I'll probably feel a lot different since I'll have both boys on my own Thursday and Friday! Happy Monday everyone!

Brett is 2 Weeks Old!

Today Brett had his 2 week check up and he is now weighing 9lbs. 12ozs and he is measuring 21 inches long! Wow how he has grown since joining this family! He is overall a great baby and he is slowly adjusting to formula. He has been having some gas issues, but we are hopeful this will all work out. We are so happy he is with us finally and Wyatt is slowly adjusting to his baby brother, although, he is not a big fan of Mommy right now, which breaks my heart, but I totally understand that he is going through a chenge right now. He continues to be Mommy's big helper though and he is growing and talking more and more every day. We look forward to what he will teach Brett one day!

Colts Vs. Chiefs

Wyatt and Daddy were ready for the Colts vs. Chiefs game yesterday! Unfortunately Brett doesn't have a Colts jersey that fits him just yet, but we are heading to Indiana very soon, so we will be sure to have one in his size for the next time! Go Colts! (words coming straight from Wyatt's mouth, not sure who taught him that! :))

Wyatt has been a lot better than I thought he would be and we are trying to let him be our big helper! He still refuses to kiss Brett or take a picture with him, but he will get me a diaper when/if I need it. We have very nice people in our lives who have been sure to make Wyatt feel very special during this transitional time!

Brett Jacob Garden has Arrived

Welcome to the world Brett! Brett arrived on Monday, September 27th, 2010 at 9:37am! We are so happy that you are healthy and happy! Your big brother is getting used to you and before we know it, you guys will be best friends!

I never thought I would be granted the opportunity to be a Mommy and now I am the Mommy of 2 very special little boys! You both are my world, my heart and my soul and I hope I am able to provide you with the best possible life! Love you!

The day has come....

We are preparing for our newest addition to our family. Only a few more short days and our family will become a family of 4! We are extremely excited to welcome the newest member of our family and if he had a name, we'd be even more thrilled. I know the moment we see you handsome man, we will name you! Wyatt, you are going to be the greatest big brother ever! I know you will teach him everything you know! I am one proud Mommy! Love you!

Special Times

Our lives are about to change forever, especially Wyatt's. Our new little boy, who still remains nameless, will be here in less than 3 weeks! While I am truly excited for this little man to join our family and for this pregnancy to be over, I'm very nervous about how Wyatt is going to react. I want Wyatt to know that even though our lives are taking a different turn and we are growing our family, he has my heart forever and ever. I want to see you be the best big brother ever and show your baby brother everything you know. I truly hope that one day you two will be best friends, just like Daddy and Uncle Ben and Mommy and Uncle Marc. There is nothing like having a sibling that you can talk to, rely on, play with, trust and love!

Grandma and Pine Cones!

So Wyatt loves to go to Grandma's house to pick up all of her pine cones! He and Grandma walk the entire yard until they have found them all!

Wyatt on the Potty!

So Wyatt is really trying to be a big boy and go on the potty! He usually lets us know that he has to go potty or wants to go potty after he has already finished in his diaper! :) Over the weekend he asked to go on the potty and he must be watching adults in our home (who shall remain nameless), and he told Daddy that he needed a magazine! We love you big boy!

Baseball!

Daddy has been travelling a lot lately and Wyatt has been great through all of it, but he needed a little extra Daddy time on Tuesday night. He wanted to run and play baseball (inside!)with "my Daddy"! He is getting so big and learning and talking so much! We love you big boy!

Mmmm Icecream!

Wyatt wanted to go swimming so bad, he even took his nap with his Elmo pool towel. As soon as he woke up, he said "Mommy, go swimming now?" We got him all dressed and ready to go and it started pouring rain! :( I had to do something to make him smile, so he got an icecream cone! Yummy!

Happy Father's Day....a little late

Thank you for being a great Daddy! I know you work hard for our family and every minute I get to spend with you, is special. I love playing football with you, jumping in the pool with you, helping you with the tools, taking out the trash, getting the newspaper and looking for big trucks! My baby brother doesn't know how lucky he is going to be someday soon. I love you Daddy! Love, Wyatt

Me and My Daddy!

Wyatt wants to do whatever Daddy is doing, as usual. He knows how to mow the lawn, poop scoop, pick up sticks and more! I hope this stays as he gets older, as this would be a great chore for him! He absolutely loves to follow Daddy around and do whatever he is doing. So cute!

We Miss You!

I knew 8 years ago today that if I was ever blessed with a son, he would be named after an amazing man, Walter Hess, my Grandpa! He was the strongest man I have ever known and he would always tell you like it is, however he had a heart the size of this world.

Wyatt, you are named after the man that Mommy misses the most, even today. He was strong, honest, funny, family oriented and much much more. You will carry his name for this family, for me, forever, and I can think of nobody else that I am more honored to have in my life today. You are Mommy's life, world, heart and soul! I know you have a piece of Grandpa with you and that is why you are who you are. Stubborn, yet amazing!

Grandpa, I miss you more today than yesterday. I hope you are proud of me and my family and I hope you continue to watch as my family grows. Keep us protected and send us guidance when needed. I love you and miss you sooooo much!

Welcome Summer!

This is a picture from last summer and we are so excited to create new memories this summer! Wyatt is a fish and he loves the water! He and Daddy are going to be exhausted come the end of the first weekend at the pool!!!

Wyatt's Baby Brother

We found out this week that Wyatt is going to have a baby brother coming in September. We are so excited to have 2 little men in our lives. Children are so very special and I do think Wyatt is going to have a hard time with having a baby around. He has been the center of Mommy and Daddy's world for the last 2 years and now he is going to have to share that. We went last night to visit some friends who just had a baby 7 weeks ago and while I was holding the baby, Wyatt went nuts! He cried for Mommy.....I told him to come and sit down with me and look at the baby. It worked for a little while, but he wanted his Mommy. I told Daddy last night that I think we need to go buy a baby doll to experience with during the next few months. I know it sounds crazy, but I think it would help with the transition. Wyatt, we know the next few months are going to be different, but you have to know that Mommy and Daddy love you with all of our hearts. We are going to be sharing our lives with a new baby as well and you are going to teach him how to ride a bike, play on the slide, play in the sand, mow the lawn and even more! We hope you share your sweet heart with your baby brother!

Happy Birthday Gavin!

Today Gavin turns 1! Wyatt and Gavin have spent this first year of his life together at Gail's and learning more and more about each other. My hope is that one day, they will be best friends! Happy Birthday dimples! We love you!

Learning How to Ride my New Bike!

Wyatt got so many great gifts for his birthday....too many pictures to share! He loves his new bike (we are working on the pedals!)! He got some great new pieces for his swing set and of course he loves everything that is loud, moves or he can color on!

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Our precious baby is turning 2 tomorrow! We can't believe it! You are our world, our hearts and our soul young man! You've had a rough week, but you are such a tough boy! You are starting to feel better from the pneumonia and I think you've been enjoying some extra Mommy and Daddy time! You are an active boy and you love love love to be outside! We will be having your party on Saturday with some special friends and family. We love you angel with everything we have! Happy 2nd Birthday!

Wyatt at the Zoo

We went to Florida for a quick visit with Uncle Ben, Aunt Jen, Cade and Cooper and we got to go to the zoo! Wyatt had a blast and enjoyed spending some quality time with his cousins!

Wyatt's Going to be a Big Brother!

I don't know how excited Wyatt is to be a big brother, but Mommy and Daddy are excited for a healthy baby! Mommy hasn't been feeling well and this pregnancy is sooooooo different than the last, but if its for a healthy baby, I can do this! We are 11 weeks tomorrow and Mommy heard a strong heart beat today, 175 bpm! Mommy feels so blessed to be a Mommy and now to be blessed to be a Mommy of 2! Our lives are going to change drastically, but hopefully we are ready! Be grateful for your family, especially those that are in our hearts forever!

I love my Boys!

Mommy hasn't been the best Mommy or wife lately. Unfortunately I have been grouchy (and that is being nice) and not feeling well and tired! I love my boys more than this world. I wouldn't know what to do without either one of you. You are my heart, my soul, my world! Please be patient with me and understand that this is not the new me! Mommy and Wife will be back soon and I promise to be loving, nice and fun again!

I love my Dooder!

I haven't been feeling so great the last couple of weeks and with Daddy still finishing the basement, Wyatt has been doing a lot of entertaining himself! Including, finding Daddy's hat and wearing it. Wyatt has never really been into TV, but movies have been our best friend lately! Time to go find something besides Barney since the adults in this house can recite each movie word for word!

Like Father Like Son

Wyatt wants to be just like Daddy! He hopped right up into the chair with the remote last night when he got home. He also loves to play rope with Buddy...unfortunately Buddy is a lot stronger than Wyatt, so he needs a little bit of Daddy's help!

Wyatt in the Basement

Brian and his Dad are in the process of finishing our basement....and Wyatt loves to help! We are so excited for this to be done for a new "boys" area!

Wyatt Loves Elmo!

Wyatt has become obsessed with Elmo! He even got to go see him live last week! He has his Elmo PJ's, and now he even has an Elmo shirt!

1,2,3,8,8,8....

Wyatt is learning so much at "preschool". This morning he was reading me a book from his car seat and he was counting fish....1, 2, 3, 8, 8, 8.....I know it isn't perfect, but it made me so proud of him! My little baby is growing up so quickly! I know everyone said time flies, but he really is going to be 2 in 2 months????!!!!

Wyatt and Mommy Day Out

Daddy is working really hard on our basement and guess who wants to help? You got it, Wyatt! So I took him to Chick Fila for lunch today and then he got to play in the play area! He played so hard, he fell asleep on the way home!

2 Year Molars Already??

I couldn't figure out why Wyatt was running a low grade fever all weekend and wanting to sleep so much....now I know why! I got a text from Gail saying his 2 bottom molars are popping through! Poor boy!

I'm a Big Boy Now!

Wyatt will kill me for this when he is a teenager, but I am so proud of him! He has been showering with me on and off, but he has always been afraid to stand in the shower while the water is running, I always had to hold him! He is now a big boy and he loves taking showers!

Wyatt and Daddy Playing Horsey!

Wyatt is obsessed with copying us, like I said and he loves to run around and be as active as he can be and I think Daddy is enjoying it just as much as he is! They were playing with Wyatt's horse and Wyatt wanted his own horse....our plunger! So fun!

Bunny!

So we had a visitor this weekend! A bunny hung out on our front porch all weekend and both Wyatt and Buddy were amazed! Wyatt continues to ask for the bunny....I keep telling him that it is awfully cold, so maybe he went to find a warmer climate...like he understands?!

Daddy Daddy

So Wyatt has found out that he loves the snow! Unfortunately it is way too cold for him to go out right now, so he has been watching Daddy shovel from inside the front door....as he cries and begs to go out! Daddy has to come to the window every few minutes or so and say hi. This is just an example of how the snow is drifting because of the 30 mph winds!

Potty

So Wyatt is very into copying and repeating everything that we say or do.....so last night he was in the living room holding on tightly to the coffee table with his "poopy face". I said, Wyatt are you going potty? Mama, poopy and he starts tugging on his diaper. I said, do you want to go poopy on the potty? He ran for the potty....I take his diaper off, where he had already pooped and he sat on the toilet for the first time. He just stared down into the toilet, so sweet! We will be buying a potty for him this weekend! And, I tried to get the camera to take a picture to share, but unfortunately, he is still too little to leave on the potty by himself, so I'll be sure to grab it next time!

Dunkin Donuts

My addiction recently came to Overland Park!!!! The Midwest hasn't had Dunkin Donuts and I only drink hot chocolate, not coffee! So now Dunkin Donuts is about 5 blocks from my house....sweet!!!!

Happy New Year!

I promised myself that in 2010 I would get better, so this is my first step. I'm going to try and blog as much as possible, so we have memories for a lifetime! I just finished going through letters and pictures dated back to 1989 and I am so grateful to still have them! I want Wyatt to have something when he grows up, and maybe this won't cause as much clutter!

We are in our 2nd blizzard of the season and the roads are ridiculous! Wyatt loves the snow and thanks to Bella and Papa, he has everything he needs to play in the snow, but unfortunately it is -11 outside, too cold today! We are expecting a heat wave next week though, 30! Never thought I'd be so excited to see 30 degrees!
